New England Patriots: Tom Brady Catches Up with Peyton Manning

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:56 p.m. ET

The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Denver Broncos on Sunday. One of the surprises was that Peyton Manning was in attendance.

For the big matchup between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, former quarterback Peyton Manning was in attendance. After beating the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game last season, Manning had to watch his former teammates lose 13-3.

After the game, Tom Brady and Manning were able to catch up. As long-time rivals, Brady said that it was great to see Manning.

“It was nice to see him. It was a nice surprise. I didn’t realize he’d be at the game,” Brady said Monday night during his weekly interview with Westwood One Radio via ESPN. “I saw him briefly before the game, and then I saw him after the game with his kids. So it was nice to see his kids are growing up fast, just like mine are.

In this generation of quarterbacks, Brady and Manning have been considered to be two of the best of all-time. With countless good games against each other, everyone surely misses Brady vs. Manning.

“He and I have a lot in common over the years. I thought he was just one of the very best to play the position. I always looked up to him and admired him for everything that he accomplished in the league as a great leader for his team. He was just a spectacular player. So I’ve always enjoyed being around him and certainly always talking a lot of football.”

As two of the best quarterbacks of all-time playing in the same era, Brady and Manning will always be linked together. This has caused a special bond between the two.

“There are a lot of things in common that we’ve had over the years, so it’s nice to have someone who can relate to a lot of similar experiences we’ve had,” Brady said on Westwood One via ESPN. “Being that we were in it together for so long at the same time, it’s really a special relationship to me.”

Furthermore, with the Broncos in the rearview mirror, Brady will be focused on the final two games of the regular season. Finally, the Patriots have a chance to accomplish great things this season, and Brady won’t have to worry about Manning standing in his way.
