Patriots LT Sebastian Vollmer carted off, ruled out with leg injury

The New England Patriots' offense was dealt another unfortunate injury on Sunday against the New York Jets.

Starting left tackle Sebastian Vollmer, who's taken over the spot with Nate Solder out for the year, was carted off the field in the first quarter with a leg injury. Vollmer was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly thereafter.

The injury occurred on the Patriots' first offensive drive when fullback Joey Iosefa was stuffed on third down. Iosefa was tackled into the back of Vollmer's leg, which bent awkwardly when he was pushed backwards.

Vollmer took over for Solder in Week 5 and has played fairly well at left tackle since then. With this latest injury, however, the Patriots will be down to their third-string left tackle.

LaAdrian Waddle was recently claimed off waivers by the Patriots and took over for Vollmer on the Patriots' second offensive series.
