Report: Vikings sign ex-CFL receiver who ran a sub-4.2 40

The Minnesota Vikings didn't get the downfield receiver they thought they were getting in Mike Wallace -- maybe they've found one in a blazing fast CFL star.

On Friday, it was reported that the Vikings signed former Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield, who ran a 4.19-second 40-yard dash in 2013.

Via TSN's Gary Lawless:

Sinkfield, a Northern Iowa product, recorded that insane 40 time at Minnesota's pro day. As an undrafted rookie, he failed to catch on with the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and New York Giants. He did not even make a practice squad.

In 2014, Sinkfield turned to the CFL. In two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts and Tiger-Cats, he recorded 86 catches for 1,240 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as 29 rushes for 138 yards. He also handled kick returns (23.0 yards per attempt) and punt returns (13.0).

Sinkfield, 25, is a long shot to replicate those numbers in the NFL and become the deep threat Minnesota needs, but his speed will make him a name to watch in training camp now Sunday.
