John Fox gives the most brutally honest answer when asked about Bears QB plan

The Chicago Bears were still without their franchise quarterback during their 29-23 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Jay Cutler has missed the past three games with a thumb injury, but the 1-4 Bears haven't missed much at quarterback with Brian Hoyer under center.

Hoyer completed 33 of 43 attempts for 397 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago's latest loss, his third consecutive game of 300-plus passing yards since taking over for Cutler. Hoyer is completing 71 percent of his passes and has six touchdowns and zero interceptions this season, a run that has John Fox debating whether to hand the starting job back to Cutler when he's 100 percent.

When asked about the decision Monday, Fox gave reporters a brutally honest answer about where the club is regarding the quarterback position.

"We don't have a plan," Fox said.

That can't give Bears fans a great deal of confidence in their franchise, but it shows how well Hoyer has performed and how strong of a case he's made to remain the starter. Now, will the Chicago coaching staff make the tough decision?
