Joey Bosa misses practice with 'tightness,' may not be ready for Week 1

Joey Bosa ended his contract holdout with the Chargers last week, and Monday was the first opportunity he had to go through a full practice in pads with the team since then. But "tightness" kept him sidelined, and (via the San Diego Union Tribune) there's a real question of whether or not he'll be ready to play Week 1 in Kansas City.

The Chargers defensive end was not on the field for position drills, presumably receiving treatment for what a source characterized as "tightness." Long-term concern was not sensed with the ailment. Still, to have a chance to play in Sunday's season opener, he figured to need all the work he could get, having missed all of training camp and the preseason to a rookie contract dispute. This won't bolster his chances.

Bosa, 21, was selected with the N0. 3 pick in this year's NFL Draft, and missed all of training camp due to the contract dispute. The Chargers have been consistent in saying that they want him ready as soon as possible, but that they won't push him to play before he's ready to do so.
