Hue Jackson fights back tears during emotional speech after Browns’ first win

Published Dec. 24, 2016 6:03 p.m. ET

It would have been so easy for the Cleveland Browns to throw in the towel. Having entered Saturday just two losses from becoming the second team in NFL history to go 0-16, the players and coaches could have turned their attention to the offseason.

But the Browns showed a lot of heart against the San Diego Chargers and picked up their first win of a 2016 season that has taken a mental toll on everyone in the organization.

After the game, head coach Hue Jackson and the players fought back tears as he addressed the team. Many players shouted that they loved Jackson, who was presented the game ball during the emotional scene.

Jackson, who is in his first year as head coach of the Browns, hopes the team can end the season on a high note against the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
