Draft fallout: Colts cut Josh Cribbs

On Thursday night, the Indianapolis Colts used their first-round pick on speedy University of Miami wide receiver Phillip Dorsett. One of Dorsett's responsibilities his rookie season figures to be returning punts and kick.

It's perhaps no coincidence then that a day later, the team parted ways with the man who handled those duties for much of last season.

On Friday, the Colts released veteran return specialist Josh Cribbs. The 10-year-veteran appeared in six games for Indianapolis last season, returning 19 punts for 125 yards and 19 kickoffs for 608 yards with a long return of 76 yards.

Cribbs spent time with the Browns, Raiders and Jets, prior to his lone season with the Colts. His most memorable moment in an Indianapolis uniform may have been when he muffed a punt in the first half of the AFC title game against the Patriots.
