Texas GM explains why he wouldn't let his kids go to a Rangers day game

Just how hot is it in Arlington during the summer? Hot enough that Rangers GM Jon Daniels doesn’t blame fans for staying away.

Appearing on 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas, Daniels detailed his concerns for the spectators, especially the young ones, at Globe Life Park (via The Dallas Morning News):

“Our fans are the ones that are really impacted. It's rough out there. The day games in the middle of the summer are rough.  … Maybe I shouldn't say this. I wouldn't want to take my kids and sit out in the sun for a day game here in the middle of July or August in Texas. I respect the people that do it and I thank them for doing it, but just being honest, it's a tough deal to sit out in that sun.”

Luckily for Daniels and the sunburned fans, the Rangers recently announced plans to build a new $1 billion retractable roof stadium -- if approved by voters.
