The 23-year-old outfielder has seen his playing time slip with the Twins' outfield regaining some healthy bodies. He's slashing .273/.330/.341 with 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple through 193 plate appearances. Celestino is likely to be limited to a short-side platoon role, though he could draw in on occasion when Byron Buxton receives a maintenance day.

Impact Celestino was away from the team since Monday following the birth of his child, but he'll rejoin the Twins ahead of the four-game series against the Blue Jays over the weekend. The 23-year-old isn't starting Thursday against Toronto but should have a chance to carve out fairly regular playing time after Kyle Garlick (ribs) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Heads to paternity list Minnesota placed Celestino on the paternity list Monday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Impact The Twins will swap one position player off the paternity list for another, as Gio Urshela (personal) rejoins the club for Monday's series opener with the Tigers while Celestino will now be away from the team for between 1-to-3 days. Once he's reinstated from the list, Celestino could end up seeing steady action in the Minnesota outfield while Max Kepler (toe) and Trevor Larnach (core) are on the shelf and while Alex Kirilloff (wrist) is day-to-day.
