INJURIES

Goes seven innings in loss Sanchez (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out nine.
Impact Sanchez was excellent Sunday, holding the Pirates to a lone run in the second inning. However, he'd depart the game in the eighth after issuing a leadoff walk to Oneil Cruz, who'd come around to score after the Phillies turned to the bullpen, sticking Sanchez with his first loss since April 22. The left-hander boasts a 3.10 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 83:28 K:BB through 13 starts (72.2 innings) this season. Sanchez currently lines up to face the Blue Jays at home in his next outing.

Cruises to fifth win Sanchez (5-1) got the win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks while striking out four in six innings.
Impact Sanchez battled control issues in this one, tossing 55-of-96 pitches for strikes, but was able to get out of threatening situations when he needed to with a lot of ground balls. The lone run against him came off a fifth inning solo blast from Davis Schneider. It was Sanchez's sixth quality start of the year and his first win since May 7. He lines up to complete a two-start week on the road against the Pirates this weekend.

Impact Sanchez was initially slated to take the hill for the second game of the series Wednesday, but he'll be pushed up a day in the schedule with ace Zack Wheeler skipping the trip to Toronto and remaining in Philadelphia while he awaits the birth of his child. As a result of the change, Sanchez now lines up for two starts this week, with his second turn set to come Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Impact Sanchez got off to a strong start, holding Atlanta scoreless through his first five innings. However, the southpaw would run into trouble in the sixth, where he'd ultimately allow two runs on three hits before leaving the game one out shy of a quality start. Overall, it was a step in the right direction for Sanchez after he allowed three runs on eight hits in just 4.2 innings in his last outing against the A's. His ERA now sits at 3.32 with a 1.31 WHIP and 70:22 K:BB through 11 starts (59.2 innings) this year. Sanchez is currently lined up to face the Blue Jays on the road in his next start.

Inefficient in no-decision Sanchez allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out six over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Saturday.
Impact Sanchez's streak of three straight quality starts came to an end. He was pulled from this one at 83 pitches (49 strikes) after an ineffective performance. Despite the shaky outing, Sanchez has given up more than three runs just once all year. He's pitched to a 3.17 ERA despite a 1.26 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB over 54 innings that would suggest he's gotten lucky to strand some traffic on the basepaths. Sanchez's next outing is tentatively projected to be at home versus Atlanta, though he could be pushed back to a home start versus Milwaukee if Taijuan Walker gets another start.

Posts third straight quality start Sanchez allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against Colorado on Monday.
Impact Sanchez fell behind early when he gave up a solo homer to Ezequiel Tovar in the first inning, but he surrendered just two runs the rest of the way to finish with his third consecutive quality start. The southpaw recorded 10 whiffs and threw 63 of 89 pitches for strikes while issuing zero walks for the first time this season. Sanchez has been quite effective on the campaign, posting a 3.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 59:17 K:BB through 49.1 frames. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start on the road against the Athletics.

Fans eight in quality start Sanchez did not factor in the decision during Monday's loss to St. Louis. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings.
Impact Sanchez tossed three scoreless frames before Pedro Pages brought home a run with a fielder's choice in the fourth inning. Ivan Herrera later drilled a solo homer in the sixth. Sanchez has allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven of his eight outings this season, including an active six-start streak. He produced 13 whiffs Monday, including eight with his changeup. Sanchez is sporting an impressive 2.91 ERA with a 52:17 K:BB across 43.1 innings. He's in line for a home matchup against the Pirates this weekend.

Six innings of one-hit ball in win Sanchez (4-1) grabbed the win Wednesday against the Rays after allowing one hit and three walks in six scoreless innings. He struck out five.
Impact Sanchez was brilliant, yielding just a Junior Caminero single in the first inning and then keeping the Rays out of the hit column for the rest of his outing. Although he generated a middling eight whiffs and tied a season high with three walks, the left-hander kept Tampa Bay guessing by inducing a whopping 11 groundouts to only one flyout. Sanchez hasn't given up a home run in any of his last three starts. He'll bring a strong 2.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB over 37.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus the Cardinals, which lines up for next week.

Five solid innings in third win Sanchez (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Nationals after allowing two runs on five hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact After being limited to two innings due to forearm soreness in his last start against the Mets, Sanchez looked sharp and didn't appear to be facing any restrictions Wednesday. While he did lend a season-high three free passes, the left-hander generated 13 whiffs and yielded just one extra-base hit. Sanchez has thrown at least five innings in five of his six outings this season, and he'll take a steady 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB over 31.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Rays.

Cleared to start Wednesday Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that Sanchez (forearm) will start Wednesday against the Nationals, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Bullpen session scheduled Sanchez (forearm) felt fine after playing catch Friday and will throw a bullpen session Sunday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Impact Sanchez was pulled from start Tuesday against the Mets due to forearm soreness, an issue which is sometimes the first sign of a problem serious enough to require Tommy John surgery. While that worst-case scenario probably remains in play, the news has been largely positive since Tuesday. He felt better enough by Wednesday that the Phillies elected not to send him for an MRI, and he was allowed to throw just three days after the initial incident. If Sunday's bullpen session causes no further issues, he could wind up avoiding the injured list, though he won't start Tuesday against the Nationals as previously scheduled.
