We knew the Milwaukee Bucks are bringing another basketball team to Wisconsin. Now we know what to call them.

The Bucks revealed Thursday that their NBA D-League affiliate will be called the Wisconsin Herd. The team will begin play in nearby Oshkosh next season.

“We are proud to call our D-League team the Wisconsin Herd, which we believe will resonate with fans across the state,” Bucks President Peter Feigin said in a statement.

The Herd's logo will debut during an event on June 22, the date of the NBA Draft, while the team will also host a watch party.

The new team will play at Oshkosh Arena, which is set to open this fall and is expected to seat 3,500 people.

“The Wisconsin Herd name has a strong, competitive feel, and it says we’re a team that’s here to win,” Oshkosh Mayor Steve Cummings said in a statement. “It has a nice tie with the Bucks while being very much a part of this state and its image.”

The Bucks first announced their purchase of a D-League affiliate in February.
