Report: Buccaneers defense held players-only meeting after Week 1 loss

Gerald McCoy, Lavonte David and the rest of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense aren't going to let the Week 1 struggles roll into Week 2. According to JoeBucsFan.com, McCoy and David put together a players-only meeting after the loss, which included the entire defense.

“Me and Lavonte David had a long talk. We actually had a meeting after practice with the entire defense, where Lavonte called out the defense, and every position had to call out the fits. You had to ask the other position group, ‘Where you supposed to be on this?’ Because there doesn’t need to be any miscommunication any more. Not moving forward. If that can happen with a rookie quarterback, we’re facing a future Hall of Famer this week. We understand that. Hopefully, if we continue to have these meetings, it’ll show up on Sunday.” McCoy told JoeBucsFan.com.

While the opening week loss to the Titans was pretty brutal, it's great to see the defense take accountability and look to find a way to fix the problem. Tampa Bay has plenty of defensive talent, but now it's time for them to truly step up.
