Roger Goodell jokes about Twitter death hoax

Published Jun. 7, 2016 4:55 p.m. ET

The NFL's official Twitter account, which has 19.2 million followers, was hacked Tuesday afternoon - and the person who took control tweeted that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell died at the age of 57.

The tweets were quicky deleted, and the NFL confirmed that Goodell was in fact alive and well. Hours afterward, Goodell cracked a joke about the incident on his own personal Twitter account.

Goodell visited with Bills legend Jim Kelly Monday in New York at Kelly's annual Jim Kelly Celebrity Golf Classic.
