Eli Manning: We need to get WR Rueben Randle involved

Published Sep. 22, 2015 12:33 a.m. ET

Through two games, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and wide receiver Rueben Randle have connected for just 28 yards receiving and four receptions on seven total targets. With Victor Cruz sidelined with a calf injury, it's safe to say the Giants were expecting more out of Randle.

Quarterback Eli Manning hinted that he will be making a concerted effort to get Randle more involved going forward.

“We’ve got to do a good job of getting Rueben involved some more, get him some more catches,” Manning said to reporters on Monday, per Giants.com. “He’s got to be a weapon for us. We’ve got to move some guys around.’’

Randle had his best season in his NFL career in 2014, catching 71 passes for 938 yards and three touchdowns. With defenses focusing extra attention on Odell Beckham Jr., Manning and the offense need to count on Randle for a lot more than just 28 yards receiving through two games.

With Beckham likely to draw Redskins top cornerback Chris Culliver, Randle will be expected to take advantage of one-on-one matchups with the Redskins' other cornerbacks in Week 3.
