Dez Bryant Will Not Play Sunday vs 49ers

Dallas Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant will not play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Bryant sustained a hairline fracture last week in his right knee in the Cowboys game against the Bears. While Bryant could potentially play, he has decided to play it safe and not risk worsening the injury.

Dez Bryant will not be playing for the Dallas Cowboys when they take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon. The star Cowboys receiver sustained a hairline fracture in his right knee last Sunday. After skipping an MRI (and getting fined by the team in the process), Bryant has determined that he will play it safe this week.

If there is a week to “Play it safe,” going up against the lowly 49ers is probably that week.

Bryant reportedly may miss up to three weeks. The Cowboys play tougher opponents the next two weeks in the Bengals and Packers before they have a bye.

With Bryant out, the 49ers will need to focus in on Ezekial Elliot at running back, as well as Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley at receiver — and Jason Witten, of course, at tight end.

The Cowboys will be at a disadvantage without Bryant, to be sure. After all, he is the only Cowboy to catch a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott.
