Ron Rivera doesn't give Panthers 'Victory Monday' after Week 9 win
Yes, the Carolina Panthers went to 8-0 in Week 9 after an impressive victory against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Apparently, though, it wasn't good enough to earn the team the day off on Monday.
In what's been called "Victory Monday" by head coach Ron Rivera over previous weeks, Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review reports that Rivera decided to cancel the day off this week. The reason? Well, Voth had the story.
"We've had a couple of 'Victory Mondays' and one thing that you always miss is being able to detail certain things and after a couple of them I felt like we missed a couple of details," Rivera told Black and Blue Review.
"I wanted to make sure we came in and really were able to hammer the message across to our guys about the details. In fact, I opened my meeting to the guys talking about paying attention to the little things, to the details, about being careful that winning does mask some of your warts. We're a good football team. I think we can get better."
Well, there you have it. Rivera decided to cancel the day off for the team, but it's simply with the hopes that they can improve even more. Carolina has the makings of a serious Super Bowl contender this season, so there's no reason to doubt anything that Riverboat Ron has done to this point.
