Bears sign tight end Tony Moeaki, lineman Marquis Jackson
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) The Chicago Bears signed tight end Tony Moeaki and defensive lineman Marquis Jackson on Thursday.
The Bears waived defensive lineman Kenton Adeyemi and linebacker Don Cherry. Both joined the club this year as undrafted free agents.
Moeaki, who has battled knee issues in the past few years, got off to a fast start for Kansas City after being drafted in the third round in 2010. In 49 games over two seasons for the Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills in 2013, the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 and Atlanta Falcons last season, Moeaki has 91 receptions for 1,201 yards and six touchdowns. He missed the 2011 season with a knee injury.
Jackson, who attended Bears' minicamps this year, played in two games for the Portland Thunder of the AFL, posting 1 1/2 tackles, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
