Florida International has fired head football coach Ron Tuner, FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman has confirmed.

Turner, who was in his fourth season at FIU, was dismissed following Saturday's 53-14 loss to Central Florida.

Under Turner, the Panthers are 0-4 this season and 10-30 since he came to FIU in 2013.

Before his stint with the Panthers, Turner was the head coach at Illinois for eight seasons before holding various coaching jobs with NFL teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.
