Giants place LB Ximines on IR; S Peppers iffy for Dallas
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The New York Giants have placed outside linebacker Oshane Ximines on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
The Giants (0-4) announced the move Friday, two days before a game against the Cowboys (1-3) in Dallas.
Ximines was hurt on Sunday in a loss to the Rams in Los Angeles. He did not practice this week. The second-year pro will be eligible to return to the roster after missing three games.
Ximines had five tackles, three quarterback hits and one tackle for loss in the first four games.
The Giants also listed starting safety and punt returner Jabrill Peppers (ankle) as questionable for the game along with linebacker Kyler Fackrell and safety Adrian Colbert, who have neck injuries.
Peppers was hurt on the opening series of the loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 27. He did not play against the Rams and and he has been limited in practice this week.
"“It feels good,” Peppers said Friday. “I’ve been taking it day by day. The trainers have a good plan for me. I’m just sticking to the plan. It feels good to be back out there at practice with the guys, get moving around, get the blood flowing a little bit.”
Golden Tate has been handling the punt returns with Peppers out.
Colbert started last week at safety. The Giants finished the game with Logan Ryan and Julian Love playing safety and they would be the likely starters this week.
