WATCH: Josh Harrison surprises fans at a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru

Published Aug. 18, 2015 5:53 p.m. ET

Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison hasn't been able to play since early July because of a thumb injury, so he has to find something to do to have a little fun.

So why not hang out at the donut shop?

Harrison surprised Pirates fans by working the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru window, donning the headset and all as he handed happy patrons their food and beverages, and also free tickets for some lucky fans to catch the Bucs at PNC Park. It was part of a public relations campaign to say "thank you" to fans.

In the end, it was the fans who were saying "thank you."

Other players were stationed elsewhere to surprise unsuspecting Pirates fans. Closer Mark Melancon got in on the action while fans toured PNC Park.

And pitcher Gerrit Cole worked the ticket office, to this fan's obvious delight.
