Marlins left fielder Yelich sidelined by tightness in back

Published Apr. 14, 2015 6:15 p.m. ET

ATLANTA (AP) Christian Yelich has been scratched from Miami's lineup at Atlanta because of tightness in his back.

Ichiro Suzuki replaced Yelich in left and was batting second for Tuesday night's game.

Yelich, a Gold Glove winner last year, has been getting treatment recently for his back and is listed as day to day.

Yelich made a diving catch in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Braves. But manager Mike Redmond says the injury is ''just something that's just kind of been lingering for a day or so.''

Yelich has a .299 career average with a hit in 14 of 17 career games at Turner Field.
