New England Revolution 0 -- Montréal Impact 1

Ignacio Piatti produced a sublime winner to send Montréal to the playoffs with a narrow victory at Gillette Stadium. Piatti embarked upon a determined run through midfield before curling inside the far post 10 minutes after halftime. The goal proved more than enough to dispatch the Revs and erase any doubt of the Impact’s place in the postseason. The result also pushed Orlando City to the brink with the expansion side now in need of a victory, a Revs loss at New York City FC and an eight-goal swing on goal difference to snatch a postseason spot

Toronto FC 0 -- Columbus Crew SC 2

Crew SC clinched a playoff berth and moved into second place in the Eastern Conference with a comprehensive victory at BMO Field. Ethan Finlay staked the visitors to the lead shortly before halftime when he swept home a Waylon Francis knockdown. Finlay’s 10th goal of the season held up until Federico Higuain claimed a second just before the death to secure the points. The victory secured the Trillium Cup and vaulted Crew SC into one of the two confirmed places in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Real Salt Lake 0 -- FC Dallas 1

FCD moved three points clear in the Supporters’ Shield race and sealed top spot in the West with a victory at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL dominated the proceedings for most of the first half, but FCD relied on shoddy defending to claim the winner shortly after the interval. David Texeira collected a Mauro Diaz pass and thumped into the top corner to snatch the points on a soggy night in Sandy.
