Redskins' Terrance Knighton hopes to play Sunday

Washington Redskins nose tackle Terrance Knighton missed the team's Week 9 game with cluster headaches that he called "a living hell." He's not 100 percent, but he plans to play in Week 10, per CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir.

“They are day-to-day,” said Knighton, who did not play against the Patriots or travel to New England last weekend. “If I feel good enough to go out there, I’ll go out there. …It’s just basically if I can tolerate [the pain] then I can go out and play. If not, it’s best I stay away.”

Knighton is unsure when or if the cluster headaches will resurface, so he just has to take things day by day.

“It’s unpredictable,” Knighton said. “I went two days without them [last week]. And then they come back.

“Usually they last for a month or two, and then I’ll usually be pain free or about two to three years. And then they come back. But it varies. There have been times I’ve had them for a week and they go away. Or there have been times when I’ve had them for two weeks and they go away. I just pray every morning and every night that they go away.”

Knighton is the heart and soul of the defense -- in the middle at nose tackle. In his absence, Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount racked up over 100 yards on the ground against the Redskins in Week 9.
