Titans want rookie runners to get in shape

The Tennessee Titans selected a pair of running backs in last month's draft with the hope both will be contributors to a revamped offense in 2015.  While the hope remains, after getting a firsthand look during last weekend's rookie minicamp, head coach Ken Whisenhunt said the duo need to work on their fitness.

Whisenhunt said fourth-round fullback Jalston Fowler and fifth-round tailback David Cobb both need to work on their conditioning as they look to make an impact in their first season with the Titans.

"A little bit out of shape, which is not uncommon,” Whisenhunt said of the two players, according to ESPN's Paul Kuharsky. “I think that’s part of getting those reps and working on the field.”

Cobb reportedly weighed in at 232 pounds, but said he wants to get down to around 225. Fowler told Kuharsky he weighed in at 255 pounds and was told he needed to be between 245-250.

“It’ll be better for us, it’ll help us move more, move quicker and help our breathing,” Fowler said.
