Report: Steelers WR Antonio Brown fined for touchdown dance
The NFL fined Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown $24,309 for his touchdown celebration dance during Sunday's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, reports ESPN.com's Adam Schefter.
Brown was also fined $12,154 for twerking during a Week 1 victory over Washington Redskins. That fine was for a first offense for violating the sportsmanship rule, defined as "excessive profanity; other unsportsmanlike conduct."
Brown received 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his latest dance, which came after he caught a 38-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger during the first quarter of Pittsburgh's 43–14 win over the Chiefs on Sunday night.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin wanted clarification on the issue, which prompted the NFL to send a video to team explaining what is and is not acceptable when it comes to those types of penalties.
"That's what happens when you give someone [commissioner Roger Goodell] total power," Steelers guard Ramon Foster said. "There are other guys who have done worse. AB's just having fun. Don't make it the 'No Fun League.'"
Brown, who has 28 catches, 369 yards and four touchdowns this season, will get his opportunity for more dancing this Sunday against the New York Jets.
