NFL.com: Maclin likely to disappoint with Chiefs in 2015

The build-up to Jeremy Maclin's first season is Kansas City is at a fever pitch.

Anything short of a Pro Bowl campaign would be a letdown at this point. Which is why NFL.com predicts Maclin might not be what fans expect right off the bat.

After setting career highs with 85 catches and 1,318 receiving yards last season, Maclin shifts from Chip Kelly's high-flying attack to Kansas City," writes NFL Media's Marc Sessler. "He'll struggle to repeat that production against a steady diet of top corners and double teams in 2015."

Maclin isn't in the NFC East anymore. He'll square off against Chris Harris Jr. and Brandon Flowers twice next season, plus an out-of-division bout with Joe Haden and the Browns.

Sessler predicts a drop-off for other reasons, too. Travis Kelce could emerge as the team's downfield threat. Or Alex Smith could forgo a downfield passing game again.

Writes Sessler: "While he's a massive upgrade at the position, K.C.'s conservative, run-heavy playbook makes the former Eagle a fantasy risk."
