Latest loss puts Rams in running for No. 1 pick

James Hall goes for the strip and gets nothing. Donnie Jones needs 10 yards on a fake punt and gets 9.

Two big whiffs in another dispiriting loss that's put the lowly St. Louis Rams in the running for the No. 1 overall draft pick for the second time in three seasons.

The Rams (2-13) and Colts are tied for the worst record in the NFL heading into the finale against NFC West champion San Francisco. If Indianapolis wins at Jacksonville (4-11) and St. Louis drops its seventh in a row, it's a done deal.

It could also be a done deal for coach Steve Spagnuolo, who's a sorry 10-37 in three seasons.
