Ex-Atlanta Falcon claims innocence in sex-assault cases

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:15 p.m. ET

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A football player who was dropped by the Atlanta Falcons this week over multiple sexual assault allegations says he believes he will be found innocent.

Torrey Green released a statement Friday through a spokesman from a Los Angeles-based public relations company.

Zack Teperman says Green ''has complete faith that any further investigation will prove his complete innocence and he will be exonerated.''

Green also apologized to the Falcons for being a distraction. He previously played for Utah State University.

The Falcons cut the rookie free agent linebacker Thursday after learning of allegations made while he was a student.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported them last month, and Utah prosecutors are reviewing the cases again.

Logan police say four women separately reported being sexually assaulted by Green in 2015.

Two cases stalled because of little evidence.
