Dez Bryant out vs. Seahawks due to concussion suffered in practice

One of the most anticipated matchups of the relatively lackluster preseason was set to take place this week when Dez Bryant lined up across from Richard Sherman. Unfortunately for those who were waiting to see this talent-laden one-on-one battle, it won’t be happening.

According to Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, Bryant suffered a concussion in practice on Monday and will miss Thursday’s game against the Seahawks.

The timing of Bryant’s concussion is poor, not just for this week’s meeting with Seattle, but because it happened just over two weeks before the regular season gets underway. Concussions are difficult to timetable for, given the varying recovery times for different players.

But at this point in time, it sounds like Bryant will be back for Week 1 against the Giants.

Bryant even sent out a tweet of his own to assure Cowboys fans that he's OK.

Defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford is also dealing with a concussion of his own, though he’s expected to play in the season opener as well.
