New Jets GM? It won't be Parcells

Come on, greater NFL populace. If you’re going to ask Bill Parcells about returning to the NFL, at least do it with a team that he’d be remotely interested in taking over.

Anyway, the very successful former coach of the Giants, Patriots, Jets and Cowboys was asked Thursday on ESPN Radio whether he wanted to return to the NFL in any capacity, and he said no.

"No, I wouldn’t listen," Parcells said, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "I’m done with football. I wish them well and everybody in New York well."

While Parcells hasn’t shied away from reclamation projects before, the Jets are quite the case this year. As well as the usual media scrutiny, there’s been turmoil surrounding head coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez, and adding Tim Tebow did more harm than good. Now the organization has gotten rid of general manager Mark Tannenbaum. "There have been times it’s made the team better," Parcells said of the upheaval. ". . . Right now there’s just a tremendous amount of uncertainty in the Jets organization."
