Giants Snee, Smith, Webster, Boss to miss Jets

Pro Bowlers Chris Snee and Steve Smith and at least five other players will miss the New York Giants' preseason opener against the New York Jets.

Giants Coach Tom Coughlin says that tight end Kevin Boss, linebacker Keith Bulluck, safeties Kenny Phillips and Michael Johnson and free agent receiver Tim Brown also won't play.

Guard Rich Seubert, who just returned to practice this week after breaking his left hand, has said he won't play either in the first NFL game at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

The rash of injuries forced Coughlin to change Saturday's planned two-hour practice at the University at Albany from a full workout to a walkthrough. Two of the team's last three practices have been walkthroughs.
