Great Osobor, Darius Brown II lead No. 22 Utah State to 77-73 OT win over Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Great Osobor had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Darius Brown II added 15 points, 11 rebounds and six assists and No. 22 Utah State beat Fresno State 77-73 in overtime Tuesday night to remain atop the Mountain West Conference standings.

The Aggies (23-5) and Boise State are both 11-4 in conference with three games left in the regular season, but Utah State swept its two games with the Broncos.

Isaiah Pope scored inside for Fresno State to open overtime before Mason Falsev answered with a three-point play and Osobor made 1-of-2 free throws to make it 69-67. Xavier Dusell answered with a layup to tie it, Falsev split a pair of foul shots and Pope again scored in the paint to give the Bulldogs a 71-70 lead with 3 minutes to go.

Josh Uduje made 1 of 2 from the foul line and then hit a fade-away jumper in the lane. Pope made a layup to tie it at 73-all with 51 seconds remaining. Brown answered with a step-back 3-pointer 17 seconds later to give the Aggies the lead for good.

Uduje and Falsev each scored 15 points for Utah State.

The Bulldogs defense forced a shot-clock violation with 1:20 to play in regulation and Fresno State missed two shots, but each time got the offensive rebound, before Colimerio was fouled and hit two free throws that gave Fresno State a 63-59 lead with 52 seconds left.

Falsev answered with a layup 8 seconds later and then, after a miss on the other end, made 1-of-2 free throws with 12 seconds remaining. Dusell made both ends of a 1-and-1 but Brown banked in a contested 3 with 2 seconds to go that made it 65-all and forced overtime.

Isaiah Hill scored 21 points before fouling out in the opening minute of overtime for Fresno State (11-17, 4-11) and Dusell added 16 points. Leo Colimerio and Pope each scored 15.

Utah State plays host to Air Force, which the Aggies beat 88-60 to open the conference slate, on Friday. Fresno State hits the road to play on Friday at Nevada.
