If you ask for a photo with Spurs’ Popovich, expect a cold, dead stare

This is way more emotion than Pop showed in a fan photo.

When the San Antonio Spurs were in New York City recently for a back-to-back with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks, apparently several members of the Spurs took in a show. For the non-NBA people in attendance, it was surely a kick to see some of sport’s most famous (and successful) people out and about.

But just because you see your favorite Spurs out on the town doesn’t mean you should ask to take a picture. In fact, let the following images serve as something of a warning to all the fans out there: If you do in fact ask for a photo with Gregg Popovich or Kawhi Leonard, you’re definitely not going to get a smile.

Got to see an amazing show and sit across from Coach Pop and the #Spurs! What a night. #Hamilton

Kawhi was also pretty thrilled to take a photo with me. His shirt is on fleek though. #Spurs #Hamilton

According to the tag on these Instagram posts, the Spurs were seeing the musical "Hamilton," which explores the life of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton.

And that, if we’re being honest, is the most Spurs-like entertainment that we can possibly think of — both educational and fun! Just, again, don’t interrupt Pop and Kawhi when they’re chilling with one of history’s most famous Federalists.
