Adelman reportedly will not return as Timberwolves coach
Rick Adelman will not return as Timberwolves head coach, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Adelman, who has guided the team the past three seasons, has compiled a 97-133 record while with the organization, failing to reach the playoffs each season. Adelman has won 1,042 games during his 23-year NBA coaching career, which has included stops in Portland, Golden State, Sacramento and Houston.
It’s unclear whether Adelman is stepping down or being fired. Adelman might be resigning to spend more time with his wife, who has been dealing with seizures during his three years in Minnesota.
Michigan State’s Tom Izzo and Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg have been mentioned as candidates to replace Adelman, according to the report.
