The Memphis Grizzlies love Mike Conley. Why wouldn’t they? Their franchise point guard has proved his value to the team in many ways, with his epic "broken face game" performance against the Golden State Warriors standing as perhaps his most impressive feat with Memphis, yet.

Conley is reticent to sign an extension with the Grizzlies until next summer, however. So maybe that’s what’s up with their latest activity on the market. A recent report suggests the Grizzlies are taking a look at Conley’s former college teammate, close friend, and NBA Draft lottery bust Greg Oden:

Oden could also just be an insurance policy. Memphis will have a hard time retaining Kostas Koufos on their bench, as the Greek big man is a free agent this summer and will see big money from many other teams—money that Memphis needs to pay to their MVP, Marc Gasol.
