Steve Nash battling ex-wife in court

Former Phoenix Suns star Steve Nash is fighting to keep his

ex-wife and three children from moving to California, where he now

plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Arizona Republic reports Nash and Alejandra Amarilla Menrath

divorced in late 2011 and their settlement doesn’t include child

support. The couple has a young son and twin 8-year-old

daughters.

Nash pays for the children’s private education and health

insurance through his employer.

He made $8.9 million this season and is scheduled to make $9.3

million and $9.7 million in the next two NBA seasons.

Menrath needs permission from a Family Court judge in Phoenix to

relocate the children. If she’s allowed to move, attorneys say it’s

possible she could petition a court in California to get more money

from Nash.
