ImpactThe steal was Lopez's first since May 29. He's got decent speed, though he's had trouble getting on base lately, as he's hitting just .143 over 10 contests since the All-Star break. Lopez lacks an everyday place in the lineup, instead serving as depth in the infield and left field. He's at a poor .210/.322/.280 slash line with four steals, 13 RBI, 18 runs scored, five doubles and three triples through 67 contests, and he's yet to hit a home run this season.

Kyle Isbel - Homer and steal in winIsbel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-5 extra-inning win over the Twins.
ImpactIsbel opened the scoring with his third-inning solo shot. He also stole third in the 10th inning as the initial runner. The outfielder has had a lackluster July, hitting .246 with a .727 OPS, three home runs and two steals over 21 contests. Despite the middling numbers, he remains a steady presence in the lineup, especially against right-handers. Isbel is slashing .213/.249/.373 with four homers, four steals, 14 RBI and 20 runs scored across 50 games this season.

Scott Barlow - Blows save FridayBarlow allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over one inning, taking a blown save in Friday's 8-5 extra-inning win over the Twins.
ImpactBarlow couldn't protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning, and the Twins would take the lead in the 10th before Bobby Witt's walk-off grand slam won it for the Royals. Barlow has been bad over his last 10 appearances, a span in which he's allowed 12 runs (11 earned) in 10 innings while taking two of his three blown saves on the year. He's now at a 5.50 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 45:22 K:BB with 12 saves in 15 chances over 37.2 innings. Barlow may not stay with the Royals beyond the trade deadline, and he would likely have to settle for a setup or committee role at best with any contender if he is traded.

Taylor Clarke - Grabs win FridayClarke (2-4) allowed an unearned run on one hit and struck out one in one inning to earn the win in Friday's extra-inning victory over the Twins.
ImpactClarke didn't do all that well in the 10th inning, allowing the go-ahead run to score on a Kyle Farmer single. The Royals were able to bounce back, rallying against Minnesota closer Jhoan Duran before winning on Bobby Witt's walk-off grand slam. Clarke has steadied himself lately, giving up just the unearned run from Friday over his last 4.2 innings. He's at a poor 5.73 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB with 10 holds and two blown saves over 44 innings this season.
