ImpactMejia was sent to the minors in mid-June, and he posted a 3.94 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB in 16 innings across four Triple-A starts since then. He last pitched Sunday, so he should be on normal rest when he returns to the major-league club Friday. The right-hander made 11 appearances (10 starts) for Cleveland earlier in the year and recorded a 6.38 ERA and 59:39 K:BB in 42.1 innings.

ImpactThe right-hander will make his first start since suffering a non-displaced thumb fracture May 23, and he's expected to be limited to about 60 pitches. Plesac will need to be efficient in order to cover the five innings needed to qualify for a potential win, so his fantasy outlook is a bit limited for his first start off the IL.

J.C. Mejía - Optioned to Triple-AMejia was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
ImpactMejia was hit hard in Wednesday's matinee against the Rays and allowed six runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in 2.2 innings to take the loss. He's now been charged with losses in four of his last six appearances, and he'll head to the minors to make room for Zach Plesac (thumb), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander could reclaim a rotation spot after the All-Star break.
