Conner Capel - Swipes two bags as pinch runnerCapel appeared as a pinch runner in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Guardians, and he swiped two bags.
ImpactCapel ran for Shea Langeliers after the catcher reached on a single in the ninth inning with the score tied 4-4. Capel managed to reach third base with a pair of thefts, but Oakland was unable to bring him home. Capel stole 21 bases in the minors in 2022, so he has speed to burn. However, he's not an everyday player for Oakland, so his fantasy value is quite limited.

Eli Morgan - Secures winMorgan (1-0) allowed a hit and struck out one over one inning, earning the extra-inning win Wednesday over the Athletics.
ImpactMorgan has had a productive series in Oakland, earning a win and a save in his last two appearances. The right-hander was dialed in with 15 of his 19 pitches going for strikes Wednesday. He's given up a hit in each of his four outings this season, but he also boasts a 6:1 K:BB and has allowed only one unearned run through four innings. With James Karinchak struggling early on, there's a chance Morgan's strong pitching could lead to him featuring as a high-leverage option as part of the bridge to closer Emmanuel Clase.

Jesús Aguilar - Powers offense in lossAguilar went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a double in an extra-inning loss to Cleveland on Wednesday.
ImpactOakland trailed 4-0 entering the eighth inning, but the team was able to tie the score in that frame thanks largely to Aguilar's three-run blast off Tim Herrin. The long ball was the veteran's first of the campaign and also accounted for his first three RBI of 2023. The paltry A's offense may prevent Aguilar from being much of a run producer this season, and after slashing .235/.281/.379 in 2022, Aguilar's fantasy outlook isn't very appealing.

Steven Kwan - Nabs first stealKwan went 2-for-5 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in a 6-4 extra-inning win against the Athletics on Wednesday.
ImpactKwan has been very productive from the leadoff spot this season, as he extended his hitting streak to six games with Wednesday's performance. It was his third straight multi-hit game and fourth overall through seven contests this season. Perhaps the only disappointing aspect of Kwan's performance thus far is that he hadn't attempted any thefts prior to Wednesday, but he was active on the basepaths in the victory, stealing one base and getting picked off on another occasion. The outfielder tallied 19 thefts in 24 attempts last season, and though he has minimal power, his ability to get on base and collect steals gives him some appeal in most fantasy leagues.

Myles Straw - Notches fifth stealStraw went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base Wednesday's 6-4 extra-inning win over Oakland.
ImpactStraw continued his strong start to the season, extending his hitting streak to six games and reaching base three times overall. The speedy outfielder also swiped his fifth bag of the campaign, tying him for the top mark in the majors. Straw's speed is tantalizing, but he posted a poor .291 on-base percentage last season en route to 21 thefts. By contrast, Straw has reached in over half of his plate appearances thus far in 2023, and he should be an elite source of steals if he can continue to find ways to get on base.

Kyle Muller - Throws 95 pitches in no-decisionMuller completed 5.2 innings against Cleveland on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five batters. He did not factor in the decision.
ImpactMuller breezed through five scoreless frames, but he departed after allowing back-to-back baserunners with two outs in the sixth. Domingo Acevedo came on in relief, and he gave up a two-run double, with both tallies being charged to Muller. Despite the disappointing ending, this was nonetheless another positive step for the southpaw, as it built upon his one-run, five-inning outing Opening Day. Muller is by no means a must-roster player in fantasy, but he's become a more intriguing pickup with his pair of solid outings to start the campaign.

Emmanuel Clase - Nails down second saveClase earned a save against the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing one walk and striking out one batter over one scoreless inning.
ImpactCleveland's bullpen blew a late lead to send the game into extra innings, but the Guardians' offense was able to put up two runs in the top of the 10th. Clase then came on to close the door in the bottom of the frame, throwing 11 of 15 pitches for strikes and fanning the final two batters he faced. This was a solid bounce-back after Clase blew a save chance by giving up two runs against Oakland on Monday.
