Keston Hiura - Second home run in as many daysHiura went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Reds.
ImpactIn his second start since getting called up from Nashville, Hiura launched a 422-foot home run to right field against Hunter Strickland to send the game to extra innings. Hiura has now hit a home run in both starts since his promotion. Despite a 43.5 percent strikeout rate, the first baseman has been effective when given the opportunity in the big leagues, sporting a 132 wRC+ in 45 games. He could be a difference maker if he can keep the strikeouts in check and starts more regularly.

Willy Adames - Launches 22nd home runAdames went 1-for-5 with one homer, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Cincinnati.
ImpactAdames took a 2-0 cutter from Graham Ashcraft deep to left-center in the third inning for his 22nd home run of the season. Sunday's effort was indicative of his season as a whole, as with the 1-for-5 effort, Adames is now hitting .220 but is second in home runs among shortstops, only to Corey Seager. Despite the low average, Adames' power and position atop the Brewers lineup make him a top option at the position.

Ross Detwiler - Records first save of seasonDetwiler picked up the save Sunday against the Brewers. He allowed zero runs on zero hits and zero walks while striking out two over one inning.
ImpactWith a clean inning, Detwiler recorded his first save of the season. Skipper David Bell opted to use Alexis Diaz for the hold in the eighth and Hunter Strickland in the ninth, who proceeded to blow his fourth save and enabled Detwiler to come in for the save in the tenth. The Reds have followed a closer-by-committee approach this season, as Detwiler is now the ninth reliever to earn a save. Despite the save, Detwiler figures to be at best third in line for save opportunities to close out the season, even with Art Warren injured.

Graham Ashcraft - Allows one run in no-decisionAshcraft did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in a 4-2 win over the Brewers. He struck out three.
ImpactIt took the Reds' rookie 102 pitches to get through 5.2 innings, but he emerged relatively unscathed as he surrendered just one run, on a home run off the bat of Willy Adames. Ashcfraft struggled in June with three starts in which he allowed more than three earned runs, but he has bounced back, allowing more than three runs in just one out of six starts since the beginning of July. He'll look to keep the momentum going against the Cubs next week.

Corbin Burnes - Dominant in no-decisionBurnes did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings against the Reds. He struck out nine.
ImpactAfter struggling in his last start against the Pirates, Burnes bounced back in electric fashion, with the only damage on the afternoon coming from a solo home run off the bat of Michael Papierski in the fifth inning. Despite the quality start, the Brewers' ace failed to record the win for the fifth time in seven starts since the beginning of July. Burnes looks to garner more run support and get back in the win column in his next scheduled start against the Cardinals.
