Packers DT Daniels named to Pro Bowl

There will be a Green Bay Packers player in the Pro Bowl, as defensive tackle Mike Daniels was named to the roster for the first time in his career Tuesday afternoon.

Daniels, who had been an alternate for the Pro Bowl the past three years, takes the place of Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who will not participate due to injury.

Daniels set a career mark in tackles (72) this season and posted his highest sack total (5.0) since tallying 5.5 in 2014.

A fourth-round pick by Green Bay in 2012, Daniels is the first Packers defensive lineman to participate in the Pro Bowl since B.J. Raji in 2011.

Daniels and Packers fullback Aaron Ripkowski were originally named first alternates for the Pro Bowl. Receiver Davante Adams, tackle David Bakhtiari, linebacker Clay Matthews and punter Justin Vogel were also named alternates.
