The Coyotes and Leafs couldn't stop hitting the post in overtime

Thursday night's overtime and shootout in Toronto featured more unfortunate posts than your annoying uncle's Facebook wall.

The Coyotes and Leafs were deadlocked at 2-2 when Radim Vrbata had a golden opportunity to pot the winner in the final seconds of overtime. Instead, he rung the crossbar and that set off a bizarre string of missed opportunities.

The first three participants in the ensuing shootout went on to also strike iron with their shots. If a fan didn't know any better, it was like both teams were trying their best to one-up each other.

Ultimately, the Coyotes' Peter Holland, who was traded to Arizona by the Leafs last week, scored the lone goal and mercifully ended the contest.
