Waiver list for Giants and predictions for Week 4

In Week 3 of the 2016 New York Giants season, injuries claimed the Giants most valuable position players including Shane Vereen and Rashad Jennings.

Vereen and Jennings would have given the Giants an increased chance in winning in every game this season by a touchdown. Vereen’s highlight in his career was his 2013 season in which he gave the Giants 26 yards per game. Jennings rushed for 863 yards last season for the Giants.

Giants waiver list has to include these starters

The waiver for your fantasy team should include Orleans Darwka who has rushed for 50 yards and scored a touchdown which shows potential considering Darwka is in his third year. Coaching staff have praised Darwka for his 4.7 yards per carry and complement to the trio of Sterling Sheppard, Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz.

Another possibility is the rookie Bobby Rainey. Rainey has not had the chance to be in the limelight with the injuries to Vereen and Jennings removing them from the starting roster. Rookie running backs may be given a chance to grab the media’s attention.

How will Eli Manning do against the Minnesota Vikings?

Manning is seventh overall in the league in yardage of 925. Manning may not be the Drew Brees or Jameis Winston of your fantasy team, but can improve as he has a talent from learning from his past mistakes and inspiring his wide receivers. Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. worked together to allow OBJ to have his 200th reception setting a league record.

Second, how will the Giants’ defense perform against a top-ranked Vikings passing game?

The setback of an injured Teddy Bridgewater has not slowed the Vikings down a bit who are 3-0.

The Giants have allowed too many points late in the third and fourth quarters of games which has drawn the attention of coaching staff and experts.

An improvement would be to prevent the Vikings from entering field goal territory, reducing missed tackles and giving Manning greater protection in the red zone when nightmares become reality. The last time the Giants had an opportunity to score an insurance touchdown against the Washington Redskins, a fumble resulted and an interception due to telegraphed passes and an unprepared offensive line.

Beyond the waiver list: what to expect from the Giants offensive line in Week 4

Weston Richburg deserves some constructive criticism for his ejection from last Sunday’s game. Head coach Ben McAdoo was not overly talkative saying he was “disappointed.”

John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse, questionable, did not prove to be most impressive in allowing Manning time to scan the field at times. Ereck Flowers, and Justin Pugh could have been better when the Giants needed them.

Bobby Hart could be added to this list of players among the most exacting fantasy team owners.

Week 4 could see an improvement in the offensive line. It’s difficult to predict given the hype created when Jerry Reese elected Flowers 9th overall in this year’s draft.

Whenever the Giants settle for 4th and short in the opposition’s territory, you could expect Josh Brown to be reliable. He has only missed one field goal this season so far.
