Report: Cowboys DE Greg Hardy's appeal to be heard Thursday

Published May. 26, 2015 2:25 p.m. ET

Dallas Cowboys fans and teammates who are eagerly awaiting the results on Greg Hardy's appeal of his 10-game suspension will not have to wait much longer. The Cowboys' defensive end will have his appeal heard on Thursday morning in Washington D.C., according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Harold Henderson will hear Hardy's appeal in court. Henderson was last heard upholding Roger Goodell's ruling on the Adrian Peterson suspension, but this decision was later reversed in court.

Hardy missed all of the 2014 season due to suspension, but he was one of the league's most dominant 4-3 defensive ends with the Panthers in 2013. During the 2013 season, Hardy racked up 14 sacks, 25 quarterback hits and 44 additional quarterback pressures. He also has a reputation as a two-way defensive end who excels at making stops in the running game.

A potential reduced suspension, even by a single game, could pay major dividends for the Cowboys' pass rush in 2015.
