QB Flacco, Baltimore Ravens agree on contract extension

BALTIMORE (AP) The Baltimore Ravens and Joe Flacco have agreed on a contract extension that will keep the quarterback with the team through the 2021 season.

Flacco and the Ravens agreed on a three-year extension Wednesday. If a new deal hadn't been made, Flacco's salary cap hit to the club would have been $28.55 million this season.

The MVP of Super Bowl XLVII was on track last season to set several club records, but torn ligaments in his left knee in Week 11 sidelined him and ended a consecutive-games streak of 122.

In 2013, Flacco signed a then-record six-year deal for $120.6 million.
