NFL injury report: Who's in and who's out in Week 1

Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season ramps up on Sunday, and we absolutely cannot wait. Unfortunately, not every player will be able to take the field — and some injuries loom larger than others.

Here are the 20 biggest names on injury reports for Week 1. Keep coming back until the start of their teams' games, and we'll give you their latest status. As a reminder, the NFL eliminated the "probable" designation for this season. Players are now only listed as "questionable," "doubtful," or "out."

Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots (hamstring)

Status: Out

The latest: The Patriots announced on Friday that Gronkowski will miss the season opener against the Cardinals.

Jimmy Graham, TE, Seahawks (knee)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Seattle coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that he expects Graham to play against the Dolphins: “He’s done everything we’ve asked of him. He couldn’t be more excited about playing.” — Jayson Jenks, Seattle Times.

Jamaal Charles, RB, Chiefs (knee)

Status: Out

The latest: Charles is officially out Sunday against the Chargers as he continues to recover from a torn ACL in 2015. — BJ Kissel, Kansas City Chiefs

Chris Ivory, RB, Jaguars (calf)

Status: Out

The latest: Ivory had been dealing with a calf injury and was listed as questionable, but he's officially out. He was admitted to a hospital for precautionary reasons regarding a general medical issue unrelated to his calf, according to the team's public relations manager.

Tyler Eifert, TE, Bengals (ankle)

Status: Out

The latest: Eifert was officially ruled out of the Bengals' season opener against the Jets as he continues to recover from the left ankle injury he suffered during the Pro Bowl.

Thomas Rawls, RB, Seahawks (illness)

Status: N/A

The latest: Rawls was listed on the Seahawks' injury report without a designation of his availability after dealing with an illness this week, but coach Pete Carroll expects Rawls to play (but not start) on Sunday. — Jayson Jenks, Seattle Times

Kyle Long, G, Bears (shoulder)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Long missed the Bears' third preseason game due to his shoulder injury, but he has since returned to practice and is expected to play. — Mark Potash, Chicago Sun-Times

Laremy Tunsil, G, Dolphins (knee)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Tunsil was named a starter by the Dolphins early this week, and he has been a full participant in practice despite a minor knee injury suffered during team activities. — Chris Perkins, South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Nate Solder, T, Patriots (hamstring)

Status: Out

The latest: The Patriots announced on Friday that Solder will miss Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He left New England's final preseason game after suffering an apparent hamstring injury.

DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins (hamstring)

Status: Doubtful

The latest: Parker is expected to be held out by the Dolphins against the Seahawks on Sunday due to a lingering hamstring injury. — Ian Rapoport, NFL Network

Jonathan Cooper, G, Patriots (foot)

Status: Out

The latest: The Patriots announced on Friday that Cooper, like Solder and Gronkowski, will be out against the Cardinals.

Golden Tate, WR, Lions (ankle)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Tate was "limited" in practice this week due to his ankle injury. — Dave Birkett, Detroit Free Press

Elvis Dumervil, LB, Ravens (foot)

Status: Out

The latest: Dumervil told reporters this week that he will not be able to play after suffering a recent "minor setback."

Dannell Ellerbe, LB, Saints (quadriceps)

Status: Out

The latest: Ellerbe did not practice all week and will miss Sunday's opener against the Raiders. — Josh Katzenstein, New Orleans Times-Picayune

Kyle Fuller, DB, Bears (knee)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Fuller returned to practice for Chicago this week after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last month. He told reporters that his goal is to play in Week 1. — Rich Campbell, Chicago Tribune

Mike Pouncey, C, Dolphins (hip)

Status: Out

The latest: Pouncey missed the majority of the preseason due to a hip injury that will force him to sit out Miami's season opener against the Seahawks, according to coach Adam Gase. — Adam Beasley, Miami Herald

Kevin White, WR, Bears (hamstring)

Status: Questionable

The latest: White was limited in practice this week and coach John Fox did not offer an update on his status. — Andie Hagemann, NFL.com

Markus Wheaton, WR, Steelers (shoulder)

Status: Out

The latest: Wheaton originally was listed as questionable on the Steelers' injury report, but the team announced Saturday he will miss the opener against Washington on Monday night.

Justin Bethel, CB, Cardinals (foot)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Bethel, who continues to make his way back from surgery on his left foot in April, was limited in practice this week. On the bright side for Arizona, S Tyrann Mathieu was not listed on the injury report. — Craig Giralou, Arizona Sports

Vontae Davis, CB, Colts (ankle)

Status: Out

The latest: Davis is expected to miss as much as the first month of the season after suffering a medial ankle sprain last month. GM Ryan Grigson said this week that Davis has yet to test out his ankle in full-speed drills. — Andrew Walker, Colts.com

David Bakhtiari, OT, Packers (back)

Status: Questionable

The latest: Bakhtiari was added to the injury report on Saturday with a back injury and was declared questionable for Sunday against the Jaguars. Ian Rapoport is reporting that it was just a minor scare and he's set to play. — Ian Rapoport, NFL Network

Xavier Rhodes, CB, Vikings (knee)

Status: Out

The latest: Rhodes has been dealing with a hamstring injury that limited him in practice last week, but it's a knee injury keeping him off the field Sunday. Trae Waynes will start in his place — Paul Kuharsky, ESPN
