Tests reveal Colts receiver TY Hilton has bruised left knee
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton's status is uncertain after he bruised his left knee in a season-opening 27-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Colts owner Jim Irsay said initial tests were negative, but added Hilton will have follow-up tests once the team returns home.
''It looks like he may miss some time, but not anything real serious,'' Irsay said.
Hilton was hurt when he banged his knee while being tackled after making a 9-yard catch late in the third quarter.
''Just hit the ground very hard. It didn't feel right,'' said Hilton, who finished with a team-best seven catches for 88 yards.
He has back-to-back, 1,000-yard seasons, including a career-best 1,345 in 2014.
For Buffalo, veteran safety Corey Graham did not return after sustaining a possible concussion on the first play from scrimmage, when he was kneed in the head by running back Frank Gore.
Coach Rex Ryan said Graham will be monitored under the NFL's concussion protocol, making it unclear when he will be cleared to play.
Gore took a pitch left and was tripped up by Graham just as he turned the corner. As Graham slid to the turf, he was struck in the helmet by Gore's left knee.
Graham was wobbly as he attempted to get up, and then nearly collapsed.
He sat on the field for a few moments before being helped up and escorted off to be examined.
