Ravens may rethink travel plans after going 0-2 out west

After not getting the envisioned return on investment for staying on the West Coast between road games in Denver and Oakland, the 0-2 Baltimore Ravens may alter their travel plans for the next lengthy road trip.

Head coach John Harbaugh praised the organization's commitment for staying in San Jose rather than heading back to Baltimore after his team's Week 1 loss in Denver, but also acknowledged that staying home might be more comforting to his players. The Ravens will visit San Francisco on Oct. 18, then head to Arizona for a Monday Night Football date with the Cardinals in Week 7.

“The organization was phenomenal,” Harbaugh said via CSN Mid-Atlantic. "Owner [Steve Bisciotti] making the commitment to do that. Our guys were in the hotel working on football all week. We would have loved to reap the benefits from that…But we’re not able to do that, ‘cause we didn’t get the job done."

The price tag for the two trips plus Baltimore's training camp visit to Philadelphia is likely to exceed $1 million. While the results weren't there, Harbaugh insists that the bad results won't play a factor in his decision.

“We’ll just try to do what’s best. I think we’ll make a decision in the next couple of days. It’s not a big deal. If we stay, it will be because us and the players feel like it will be the best thing. If we don’t , it will be because we’d rather get back here and be in our home confines.”
