Thomas scores 20, Norfolk State knocks off Penn State-Wilkes Barre 102-55
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Jamarii Thomas scored 20 points as Norfolk State beat Penn State-Wilkes Barre 102-55 on Monday night in a season opener for both teams.
Thomas had seven rebounds and four steals for the Spartans. Kuluel Mading scored 15 points while shooting 6 of 8 from the field and 2 for 6 from the line, and added seven rebounds. Allen Betrand had 12 points and was 4 of 5 shooting and 3 of 4 from the free throw line.
The Nittany Lions were led in scoring by Anton Berga, who finished with nine points. Penn State-Wilkes Barre also got eight points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals from Jalen Willis. In addition, Chase Monroe had eight points.
