Nuggets' Mozgov injures left knee, ankle

Published Apr. 6, 2011 3:26 a.m. ET

Center Timofey Mozgov sprained his left knee and ankle in the first quarter of the Denver Nuggets' game against Oklahoma City on Tuesday night and was helped to the locker room.

Mozgov cut into the lane from the right corner, took a pass from Kenyon Martin with 2:44 left in the first quarter and was about to go up for the layup when Thunder defender Nick Collison fell into him while drawing the charge from Martin.

Mozgov's left leg buckled and he immediately fell to the floor, where he stayed for a minute while team medical personnel tended to him.

Mozgov, who was coming off his best game since being dealt from the New York Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony trade, was helped off the court, hopping until he reached the tunnel to the locker room, where he grimaced as he tried to put weight on his injured leg.
